PHOENIX (AP) - Thursday marks the deadline for prospective Phoenix Coyotes buyer Greg Jamison to purchase the team from the National Hockey League.
The Arizona Republic reports (http://bit.ly/VFXGLO) that Glendale officials have no idea whether Jamison will complete a 20-year deal to use and manage the city-owned Jobing.com Arena.
The agreement will expire if the deadline is blown.
The deal would pay Jamison an average of $15 million annually to book non-hockey events and oversee parking and maintenance at the arena and would guarantee Jamison and his ownership group about $300 million in city payments over the life of the contract.
Team spokesman Rich Nairn says Coyotes executives expect the sale will be completed by this week's deadline.
