WILCOX - Thieves ripped off copper wire from several power poles along I-10, officials with an area electric cooperative said.

Cochise County deputies were alerted of the thefts by Sulpher Springs Valley Electric Cooperative March 6.

Four power poles near milepost 338 had about 8 to 10 feet of wiring ripped from them, Cochise County Deputy Carol Capas said.

SSVEC says there was about $1,400 worth of damage.
