Thieves get away with cart full of groceries

TUCSON - The Pima County Sheriff's Department is asking for your help in identifying 2 suspects who allegedly left a Wal-Mart with a cart full of groceries.

Deputies responded to the Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market, 2823 W. Valencia Road, at approximately 8:40 p.m. June 27, according to a press PCSD press release.

A man and a woman went into the store and began loading items into their shopping cart, the release stated. When the couple finished shopping they took their full cart to the checkout counter in order to pay.

As the cashier scanned the items, she placed them in a bag and the male placed them in his cart, according to the release. The last item would not scan so the cashier went check the price.

While the cashier was gone, the man left the store with the groceries and put them into a maroon van, the release stated.

The woman stayed at the checkout counter and gave the clerk a gift card without any cash on it to pay for the groceries, according to the release. As the clerk repeatedly tried the card, the woman walked out of the store, got into the maroon van and left the area.

PCSD urges anyone with information to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
