TUCSON - Just when you thought the 100 degree heat was over with for the year, Mother Nature returns the sizzle.
High pressure over southern Nevada cranks the thermometer up to triple digits this afternoon, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. This will be the 70th 100 degree day of the year for Tucson, making for the 4th straight year of 70+ triple digit days. The last time that occurred in Tucson was 1991 through 1994.
Day #71 of triple digit heat looks likely tomorrow as well before temps cool to the mid/upper 90's Friday into the new week.
Expect ample sunshine over the next 7 days. Enough moisture may crop up a little more cloud cover in the mountains Sunday and Monday, but there will be more sun than clouds.
