The May Outlook for Southern AZ

TUCSON-April will go down as a warm month with most of the above normal temps coming in the second half of the month. We hit 100+ twice in April a rare feat indeed since it only hit 100+ (8) other days in April history.

May will continue with the above normal temps and below normal precip says Chief Meteorologist Rob Guarino. We'll see a good part of May above normal and we are expecting to sit in the top 15 warmest May's of all-time for Southern AZ. The pattern is coming out of a long La Nina winter and spring so expect a hot summer ahead as we shift to an El Nino pattern by the fall. The drought does not look to get any better until Monsoon.
