TUCSON - Recent winds have vanished and the heat is making a comeback. Temperatures across Southern Arizona were ranging from the mid 80s in Cochise County to the low to mid 90s for most of Eastern Pima County.
A strong area of high pressure continues to build over the area and even warmer weather is likely from Friday through Sunday. Tucson may reach 100 degrees during the next 72 hours. Many areas west of the city will break 100 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Skies will remain sunny throughout the entire period.
Our next pattern change will arrive by Monday as another system will roll in from the Pacific Northwest. This weather maker will bring another round of wind from Monday through Wednesday of next week. High fire danger and isolated blowing dust will return during this time period. Temperatures will cool into the mid to upper 80s by next Wednesday.
