The first winner of a free pool fence

ORO VALLEY -- There have been 3 child near drownings in Pima County this year.

As you know barriers can save lives so we have our first winner of a free pool fence in Oro Valley.

We teamed up again this year with Pool Guard of Tucson because barriers are so important.

Micah is 13 months-old. He is Cindy Bergstrand's first grand baby.

"He's learning to walk. And he loves the outdoors," she says. "He loves the pool so he just gravitates right towards it. It's like a magnet he goes right for the pool every time."

Micah spends most of his day with his grandma while his parents work. Cindy knew she needed to boost the safety.

"And now when he's walking he's even quicker."

It took about 5-hours for the crew from Pool Guard... to install this fence worth $1350.

After instructions on the self closing gate from Matt Baronowski of Pool Guard this job is done.

"Thank you so much we really appreciate this," says Cindy. "That was such a nice thing to do. It keeps Micah safe."
