TFD to present hero award to 9-year-old, neighbor, for saving a life

TUCSON - This week at Tucson Fire District Station 12, Captain Barrett Baker will be awarding two people for their actions in saving a woman's life.
In June, a woman was accidentally shot in her chest. Her 9-year-old son went to get the help of the nearby firefighter neighbor, but he was not around. Another neighbor came to the rescue and helped apply pressure to the woman's wound and keep her alive until TFD personnel arrived.
On Wednesday, August 29, 2012, the 9-year-old and neighbor will be awarded with Hero Awards at 3:00 p.m. at Station 12, located at 250 South Harrison.
