TUCSON- Tucson Firefighters rescued a wheelchair-bound woman from her smoke-filled home Sunday afternoon.
TFD received a 9-1-1 call at 1:06 p.m. regarding a fire in the bathroom of a mobile home located in the 1100 block of West Prince Road, TFD Captain Chris Jurvig said.
Firefighters knew the homeowner was confined to a wheelchair, due to previous responses to the home, Jurvig said.
When firefighters arrived, they immediately started a search for the woman and located her outside the bathroom.
She was transported to the hospital for evaluation, but was listed in stable condition, Jurvig said.
It took 21 firefighters, four minutes to bring the fire under control.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, Jurvig said.
