TUCSON - The Telegraph Fire reported yesterday afternoon, and has so far burned about 208 acres of vegetation, roughlly three miles south of Picket Post Mountain near Superior.
Access to the area is difficult, but crews have made good progress in securing the fire line last night and today, according to a news release from the Forest Service.
In addition to two hotshot crews, tho engines and miscellaneous fire personnel on the ground, one attack plane, a single-engine tanker and one helicopter are assisting.
Three heavy air tankers were released from the incident, but will remain stationed at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport for the time being.
Officials do not have an estimate of what percent of the fire is contained, and fire crews will continue to work on securing the fire line this afternoon, Forest Service officials state.
