PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police say a 16-year-old boy is in critical condition after someone opened fire from a vehicle outside his home.
Police spokesman James Holmes says officers were called around 8:30 p.m. Saturday to reports of a shooting on West Campbell Avenue near 55th Avenue.
Holmes says police found he teen had suffered a gunshot wound and he was taken to a hospital.
Investigators say the boy was standing on the south side of the street when a Kia heading eastbound stopped and someone called the victim over to the car.
Police say he was shot while approaching the car.
Holmes says the three people in the Kia are described as male and possibly Hispanic.
No arrests have been made.
