TUCSON - A student was arrested after calling 9-1-1 to report someone had three guns at Santa Rita High School and it turned out to be a hoax.
As parents arrived to pick up their kids from Santa Rita High School, they were upset that yet again there was a false alarm there.
Wednesday, the school was on lockdown as police and school security searched the school for guns that had been reported in the area.
Thursday, another 911 call reported guns on school campus.
Police said Thursday morning just before 9, TPD received a 9 11 call about someone with three guns at Santa Rita high school.
It turned out a freshman student made the 9-1-1 call from another person's cell phone
A group of teens were detained for questioning before the 14-year-old was arrested for the hoax.
That 14-year-old was arrested for one count of False Reporting of an Emergency as well as Disorderly Conduct -Interfering With or Disrupting an Educational Institution, both misdemeanor offenses.
Parents coming by the school to pick up their kids said they've been on edge these past two days.
"I think the kid should be suspended from school permanently. I don't think he should be allowed back. He's wasting a lot of resources and putting a lot of people in danger. If they did have a locked down school again and there are students in there, what happens next? It's getting ridiculous right now," said Eddie Borquez.
