(NBC NEWS) - Target is leaving its doors open a little later.
Hoping to grab customers who don't shop until well after dark, the retailer is extending operating hours in more than half of its 1800 U.S. stores.
Instead of closing at 10:00 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays, then retailer will remain open until 11:00 p.m. or midnight.
On Sundays, store hours will be extended to 10:00 p.m. or 11:00 p.m.
The new extended hours start this month and will continue through the holidays, after which they will be evaluated.
