TUCSON - It was hard for University of Arizona fans to find an open barstool during the Wildcats basketball game Thursday.
Kathi Hughes was confident they would make it past the Sweet 16 before she watched the game at Sir Vezas Taco Garage.
"Why would I be nervous? I'm not playing," she said. "They can take Ohio State. They're wimps."
U of A dominated the first half, but Jesus Sanchez did not let that raise his hopes too much.
"It's a good start," he said, "but we know they've started out good before, and then second half, sometimes they're falling down."
Chris Tanjuaquio was happy to see the Pac 12 team competing against the Big 10.
"To be ahead of the game over Ohio State," he said, "it's phenomenal."
The Cats quickly lost the lead to the Buckeyes in the second half and lost.
"I'm really disappointed," Alison Newell said, "I'm sad. I thought we were there. I thought we were going to make it."
Silvia Urias was upset, but happy the team made it so far.
"I'm sad," she said, "but my veins run red and blue all the way."
