A manufacturer's recall has forced fire departments to remove several aerial platform trucks from service.
Sutphen Corporation issued the recall after three Georgia firefighters were injured when a mechanical failure caused the ladder to drop more than 20 feet before jamming.
According to the release issued by the company, Sutphen will stay in close contact with fire departments and report details about when the units may be placed back in service.
