TUCSON - In the late hours Wednesday, a spree of armed robberies occurred in the Tucson area.
Three armed robberies were reported between 11:42 p.m and 1:32 a.m. The description of the suspect matched in all three incidents. He was armed with a handgun during each robbery and demanded money from the clerks.
At about 1:53 a.m., the on-duty Force Commander spotted a male matching the description of the suspect crouching down behind a wall near the Circle K at 130 East Speedway Boulevard.
The male was detained and later positively identified as the suspect from all three previous armed robberies. He was armed with a handgun at the time he was detained.
The incidents occurred as follows:
The suspect was identified as 28-year old Gustavo Paco. He was booked into the Pima County Jail for 3 counts of Armed Robbery.
No vehicle description was given in any of these incidents and no associated vehicle was located in the area that Mr. Paco was detained.
Detectives believe a second suspect and a vehicle may still be outstanding. Anyone with information is urged to contact 911 or 88-CRIME.
