Suspect arrested in stabbing of Catalina High School student

TUCSON - Tucson Police have arrested a 21-year-old man accused of stabbing a high school student.

Detectives say on January 9, Robert Anthony Vasquez stabbed a Catalina High student and robbed another at knifepoint in a parking lot near campus.

The student suffered non-life threatening injuries.

On Friday, March 7, Vasquez was found at an apartment complex in the 2600 block of North Oracle and arrested.

He faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault with temporary disfigurement and armed robbery.

The arrest was a collaborative effort between TPD and the U.S. Marshal Service.
