TUCSON - As is very common during the last week of August, and into the Labor Day weekend, the monsoon often shuts down and temperatures rise.
This year is no different and as an area of high pressure strengthens over the region, we can expect sunny skies with highs headed back into triple digit territory.
The extended forecast remains very similar with sunny and hot conditions persisting through much of next week.
Some signs indicate that more moisture may move back into the region by the middle of next week. Remember, the monsoon doesn't officially end until September 30th.
