Summer starts with some sizzle

TUCSON - Summer starts with a weekend warm-up.

High pressure parked off the West Coast will keep temperatures several degrees above average heading into the first official weekend of summer. Daytime highs will remain near 105 degrees both Saturday and Sunday under sunny to mostly sunny skies.

The bulk of the monsoon moisture will stay south of the border in Sonora and Chihuahua Mexico with only a few cloud build-ups expected over the higher elevations of Cochise County this weekend.

As high pressure drives temperatures to 107 degrees late next week it may also draw some moisture closer to Southern Arizona. No storms in the forecast quite yet but it will be something to watch for next week.
