TUCSON - Summer heat continues with monsoon moisture stuck in Mexico.
High pressure off the California coast will keep temperatures slightly above normal as we kick off the summer season this weekend. Highs near 103 degrees will be the call through Monday under sunny to mostly sunny skies.
Temperatures will climb a few degrees by the middle of next week as high pressure moves overhead. Expect the peak of the heat to hit on Wednesday with a forecast high near 105 degrees.
Ample monsoon moisture remains in Mexico where the monsoon is well underway. Northern Sonora and Chihuahua will continue to see their daily round of storms as we see just a few cloud build-ups over the higher elevations in the coming days.
All good signs for the monsoon to start in Southern Arizona, however, a Pacific low may move in late next week to further delay that start. For now, still no storm activity in the forecast but slightly cooler temperatures are expected with this passing system late next week.
