Suddenly September: Monsoon shut-down continues

TUCSON - Brace yourself for the 54th triple digit day of 2014.

Dry air from the southwest shuts down storm chances for most of southern Arizona, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Highs in Tucson this afternoon peak in the 101-103° range under mostly sunny skies. Far southeastern Cochise County stands a slight chance of a shower or storm today.

Monsoon moisture slowly creeps north late this week, as high pressure moves toward the Four Corners. Isolated storms are possible along the International Border Friday, with Tucson seeing a slight chance of storms Saturday. A better chance of isolated storms exists Monday and Tuesday of next week.
