Strong storms hit Tucson

TUCSON - A strong monsoon storm hit the Tucson area and other parts of Pima County Friday afternoon.

The storm packed winds of 70 MPH in some areas.

Those winds were strong enough to knock down power lines along Valencia Road.

Tucson Police shut down Valencia between 6th Avenue and Tucson due to downed power lines.

Park is shut down between Drexel and Valencia due to flooding.

TEP is reporting several thousand customers without power.
