Streetcar open to public Friday

TUCSON - The streetcar will officially be open to the pubic on Friday, at 9 a.m. The grand opening will be on 5th and Congress. You can start riding at 10 a.m.

There are total of eight street cars that can hold around 150 passengers each.

There will be more than 11,000 parking spaces for this weekend's festivities and nine garages in which you can park. Some of those locations include the library off Alameda, the Depot Plaza on 5th Avenue, and Main Gate.

Monday - Friday hours:

10 a.m. until 6 p.m. every 10 minutes
From 6 p.m. - 10 p.m. every 20 minutes
From 10 p.m. - 2 a.m. every 30 minutes.


Saturday hours:


10 a.m. - 10 p.m. every 20 minutes
10 p.m. - 2 a.m. every 30 minutes

Sunday hours:

8 a.m. - 8 p.m. every 20 minutes
