Storm chances slowly decreasing for Tucson

TUCSON - Another day of hit & miss storms that could produce locally heavy rainfall.

High pressure near El Paso maintains enough moisture to trigger isolated storms in Tucson today, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Areas south and east of the metro stand a better chance of scattered storms. Activity this afternoon will be slow moving, so the flash flood potential exists.

Daytime highs reach the upper 90's in Tucson today, which is on par with seasonal averages.

High pressure begins to wobble over the state heading into the weekend, serving to decrease storm chances even more. Most activity sticks to the mountains Friday and Saturday, with a better shot of isolated storms for the valley floors next week.
