Still more mandatory evacuations ordered as fire heads north

SIERRA VISTA - As of 2:30 P.M. today more MANDATORY evacuations have been ordered at the following locations:

West side of Highway 92 on Yaqui west to Calle Matate / north to Choctaw Drive / east to Highway 92.

An update from the Cochise County Sheriff's Department confirms that the Monument Fire has spread to Fort Huachuca:

"There is a brush fire now near Range 13 on Fort Huachuca (near the aerostat) on the east side travelling towards site Boston. No structures or people in danger. Fire crews are addressing this fire now. Fort Huachuca golf course is being evacuated for safety concerns."

The Cochise County Sheriff's Department wants to make clear that they are not looking for volunteers of any kind at this time - the public is asked to stay away from the affected area to ensure that everyone is brought to safety in a timely and professional manner.
