Stepfather of captive Tucson girls had charges dropped in 2012

TUCSON - The man accused of holding three girls captive in a midtown home had a run in with the law in 2012.

Fernando Richter, 34, was charged with criminal damage, disorderly conduct, and assault in March 2012, court records show.

This photo of Richter was taken when he was booked into Pima County Jail in March 2012. He was charged with disorderly conduct, assault and criminal damage. Court records show those charges were dropped.

Fernando Richter is facing 3 counts of kidnapping, 3 counts of child abuse, 3 counts of child abuse and 1 count of sexual abuse with a person under 15 years of age.

Sophia Richter is facing 3 counts of kidnapping, 3 counts of child abuse, 3 counts of emotional abuse, and 3 counts of child abuse.

They will be appearing in video court Wednesday morning at 9 a.m.
