TUCSON-A fire destroyed a local church four months ago.
Saturday supporters held a benefit concert to raise money for the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church.
The Tucson Greek Festival would have been this weekend, but when the church was destroyed by a fire in May, the congregation had to switch gears, and instead of a festival, they had a fundraiser to help rebuild the church.
"Insurance pays for things but it takes a long time, and we've lost quite a bit of our normal revenue," said Father Earl Cantos.
The money raised at the concert will also help them perform community service.
"Including the Thanksgiving day dinner for the homeless and the people who are having some troubles. We feed over three thousand every Thanksgiving," said Father Earl.
Parishioners still affected by the fire came to the event as well as Tucsonans looking to support the cause.
"It's just like losing your house everything that keeps you who you are," said Georgia Samantas.
Performers said they didn't think twice about stepping in to lend a hand.
"Is there anything I can do? Do you want to do a concert? So the seed got planted right away to do an event to raise money," said Bill Cantos, an entertainer at the concert.
"It's just a beautiful thing," said Father Earl Cantos.
