TUCSON - The calendar may say it's barely mid-February, but Mother Nature has a serious case of Spring Fever.
As of 3 p.m., highs across the region have surpassed the 80 degree mark in may places. Tucson has already recorded a temperature of 83 degrees, while Marana has reached 87.
This is just the beginning of a strong heat-wave that the Desert Southwest will experience. Highs will remanin in the 80s through the entire weekend. Many records will be in jeopardy - especially by Saturday.
Somewhat cooler air will arrive by next week as we return to the 70s - which is still several degrees above average.
