TUCSON - Students got home hours late because of monsoon storms.
Vesey and Banks Elementary schools had to send kids back to school after their buses could not safely reach neighborhoods for drop-offs because of running washes.
Alexandra Hewitt's kids are usually home a few minutes after 4 p.m. She picked them up at school around 6:30 p.m.
"I got a call from the school saying, ‘Hey, are you going to pick the kids up?'" Hewitt said. "Absolutely. When you tell me where my kids are at."
Many parents were frustrated. Others were just worried.
"The school carried everything right," Victoria Betters said.
Parents eventually picked up all the kids at Banks. Vesey had to use a van to take a few students home.
