Sonoran Wind Machine cranks up the fire threat

TUCSON - The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for southeastern Arizona today and tomorrow from 11 AM until 8 PM.

Cochise, Graham & Greenlee Counties are also under a Wind Advisory from 11 AM until 8 PM this afternoon & Tuesday.

A cold front cranks up the Sonoran Wind Machine, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Metro Tucson sees gusts around 25-30 MPH today. Areas under the Wind Advisory will have 40+ MPH gusts and blowing dust along I-10. High temps the next 48 hours reach the mid 80's under sunny skies.

Temps cool off mid-week as the cold front passes through. Highs Wednesday and Thursday reach the low to mid 70's, which is 7-9 degrees below average. 80 degree weather returns by Friday.
