Sonoran Swelter: Record heat, slim storm chances this week

TUCSON - A scorching 7 day stretch for the Old Pueblo.

High pressure over El Paso supplies above average heat, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Limited Monsoon moisture leads to a slight chance of isolated storms along the International Border and White Mountains the next few days. Metro Tucson reaches the 103-106° range under partly cloudy skies.

Mid week sees the peak of the heat, with 108-110° possible. Widespread record breaking heat may be negated, as isolated hit & miss storms return by Wednesday. Slightly cooler temps and a better chance of isolated storms arrive for the weekend.

Overnight lows the next several nights drop to the upper 70's to low 80's.
