TUCSON - Despite a soggy soccer field Wednesday night, the FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup played on.
With dedicated fans showing up in big numbers.
You could say fans got a kick out of the conditions.
Dakota Kildoo says, "This is in Arizona, but it's perfect weather, it's awesome."
Jonathan Cook says, "I don't know, I've lived in Tucson for two and a half years and it shouldn't be like this, but you know what it's worth it."
"Come on Seattle, go Seattle, go Seattle," cheers a family from Washington. They're wearing their teams' jerseys underneath layers of jackets.
"Must have cow bells, and a couple of scarves," says one fan.
For many, by showing up rain snow or shine, they hope the game will expand in Tucson.
"It's really cold and freezing, but I love soccer a lot," says a young man named Luis.
His friend Daniels adds, "well it's great to see a bunch of people still out here, even though it's not the best conditions to play soccer."
The Desert Diamond Cup goes through Sunday.
