Slim storm chances as temps return to triple digits

TUCSON - Thunder-free with plenty of heat this afternoon in the Old Pueblo.

High pressure moving toward southern Arizona limits storm chances, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. The combination of sinking & warming air leads to a slight chance of isolated storms in the mountains and along the International Border. Most southern Arizona locations stay dry today as Tucson reaches triple digits for the 51st time this year.

Another quiet day on the Monsoon front is anticipated Wednesday.

High pressure moves toward the Four Corners late week into the weekend. As a result, isolated storms return to the forecast Thursday. Models hint at a few disturbances that may enhance storm development this weekend and early next week. Daytime highs drop below the century mark as storm chances increase.
