Monsoon 2013

Slight chance of thunder, better chance of breezes

TUCSON - Storms struggle to launch later today.

Enough moisture remains in place for a slight chance of isolated storms this afternoon, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. The best chance for these hit & miss storms looks to be over Graham and Greenlee Counties. Most of the area should stay dry today as Tucson tops out in the low 90's for highs.

A departing low pressure trough over New Mexico and high pressure building over the Great Basin brings a blustery night for southern Arizona. East-southeast winds kick up around 20 MPH through Friday afternoon, easing up just in time for the weekend.

Plenty of sunshine and daytime highs in the 90's rule the forecast Saturday through next week, as high pressure sets up shop over southern California.
