TUCSON - Southern Arizona wraps weekend with another round of scattered showers and storms.
Deep moisture moved into the region Sunday courtesy of a decaying tropical system in the eastern Pacific. According to Meteorologist John Patrick, the remnant moisture from Ivo helped trigger the thunderstorm activity today. Most of Tucson saw at least some light rain, however, a few locations did pick up some quick downpours.
Tucson International only received 0.07" this weekend bringing our monsoon total to 2.93". From June 15 through today we are officially -1.46" below average. Some other weekend rainfall totals from around the area are below.
Michigan St at Calgary Ave: 0.71"
Green Valley: 0.51"
Sunrise Rd at Ventana Canyon: 0.51"
Oro Valley: 0.47"
Pima County Fairgrounds: 0.43"
Skyline Dr at Columbus Blvd: 0.12"
Showers and storms will continue into the overnight hours with an active monsoon pattern hanging around for the upcoming work week.
