Shooting outside liquor store leaves man dead

TUCSON- A man died early Saturday morning after being shot in front of a liquor store in midtown.

According to Tucson Police Sergeant Chris Widmer, officers responded to the store located at 1866 S. Country Club Road at 2 a.m. for a shots fired call.

Officers found the male lying in the road.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Widmer says the male was group of individuals leaving the Wooden Nickel Tavern across the street from the liquor store.

At some point an altercation occurred and multiple shots were fired.

Night Detectives and Gang Detectives are investigating the shooting.
