Sheriffs seeking suspects in string of early-morning robberies

TUCSON - Pima County Sheriffs are looking for three suspects, one of whom was involved in a string of robberies at several locations early in the morning on July 31.

The first incident happened at about 1:20 a.m., Pima County Sheriff's Department officials state, and involved three suspects. They entered the Circle K at 5680 S. Mission Rd. and stole beer.

Then, at about 4:30 a.m., one of the three suspects entered a Subway at 2955 W. Valencia Road, implied he had a weapon, and demanded money from the employee, sheriff's officials state. The employee said there was a time lock on the deposit safe, and the suspect left without taking anything.

The same suspect then entered the Circle K at 3280 W. Valencia Rd. at about 4:50 a.m. and implied to the clerk that he was holding a gun behind his back. The suspect demanded the clerk put cigarettes in a trash bag as he added items himself, the PCSD news release states. As a customer entered the store, the suspect left with the bag.

The final incident occurred at the Safeway store at 2940 W. Valencia Rd at about 5:40 a.m. The same suspect from the previous two incidents approached an employee outside the store, and demanded to be taken to the safe, or he would shoot the employee. The employee refused, and the suspect left.

The suspect involved in all incidents wore the same red t-shirt, red bandana and black ball cap with a "T" on the front. Anyone who can identify the suspect or suspects involved in these any of these incidents is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
