Sheriffs identify 'investigative lead' in sexual assault case

TUCSON - Pima County Sheriff's Deputies have identified an "investigative lead" in the sexual assault case involving at least one young girl that occurred late last month.

A man broke into a home with three young girls and allegedly sexually assaulted at least one of them on April 30. It happened on the northeast side, near Catalina Highway and Snyder Road.

Deputies released surveillance video from a convenience store about four miles from the home. The cameras caught the images around 12:30 a.m. The alleged assault happened around 2:00 a.m.

Investigators are not calling the person a suspect, only an "investigative lead." Officials confirmed that this man has been identified, but this information has not been released to the public at this time.

Deputies say the suspect is a white man in his 20s. He was wearing a green sleeveless shirt and dark shorts.

Sheriff's officials state that PCSD will continue to follow-up on every tip called in to the department and 88-CRIME.
