AVRA VALLEY - There's been a rash of burglaries in parts of Avra Valley and Pima County detectives need your help finding one of the suspects.

Investigators say 21-year-old Joseph Monroe Jordan is already on intensive probation and may have stolen weapons.

Jordan is a convicted felon who detectives say has been arrested nearly a dozen times since 2005.

Most recently he was in a high speed chase with police. Detectives say he was driving a stolen car. He managed to get away, but left his female passenger behind.

Detective Dan Lanning says, "We need to get him off the streets before he hurts somebody."

He says probation officers found stolen items including weapons where Jordan was living.

Weapons that belonged to Bruce Bruggeman were taken last month. "They stole all my guns, they took my lap top they took our big screen TV, and surround system."

He says more than $50,000 worth of items were stolen from his property. These items are documented because he took pictures of them and handed them over to Det. Lanning . "(Bruce Bruggeman) did a fantastic job of documenting his items."

Now Bruggeman, a retired corrections officer has placed signs on his property saying "the Grinch stole our Christmas," and Bust a Burglar. However one item that's gone that money can't replace.

"My father's off duty revolver. He was an ex Tucson police sergeant, and he's since passed."

Bruggeman says he's worked hard all of his life for what he has. His question to Joseph Monroe Jordan, "I would just like to know why he feels like he has the right to go into my home and take my items, my things, my wife's things, things that mean stuff nobody but us."

Bruggeman isn't the only victim. "There have been numerous burglaries in the area. A friend of mine that just got hit last week, I talked to him and he says they stole all of his weapons."

That's why sheriff's detectives want to find Jordan. Their worst fear, "That he's going to enter into someone's house have a confrontation and he's going to be armed."

Detective Lanning believes drugs are the motive for the burglaries.

He also says they have information that Joseph Monroe Jordan is still in the Avra Valley area but may be wearing a wig to disguise himself.
