SANTA CRUZ COUNTY - A fire has been reported in Mexico, in the area of Campanini Canyon near the U.S. Mexico Border - officials state the fire will cross in the United States shortly.
Today at about 2:20 p.m., the Cochise County Sheriff's Office was requested to respond to the area of Campanini Canyon by the Palominas Fire Department, according to a release from CCSO. State Land has advised that there is currently a fire in Mexico that they are certain will cross into the U.S. shortly.
There is another fire in Santa Cruz County, located near mile post 6 on Highway 83, that State Land is also coordinating a response for.
There are also reports of a grass fire in the area of Keeling Road, south of Sierra Vista. An update from the Fry Fire Chief, Bill Miller, states that this fire is now under control.
