LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - U.S. Sen. John McCain says last week's shooting rampage at Fort Hood, Texas was an "act of terror."
McCain said there were signs that the alleged shooter had shown "disturbing behavior" and that those signals should have been passed along to the proper authorities.
The Arizona Republican made the comments Wednesday during a Veteran's Day speech at the University of Louisville as a guest of Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell.
The shooting killed 12 soldiers and 1 civilian, and injured 29 others.
The suspected shooter, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, was shot by civilian police and is recovering, under guard, at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.
