MARANA - Eastbound traffic on Interstate 10 is being rerouted at exit 226 due to a semi truck rollover accident about 25 miles west of Tucson.
Arizona Department of Public Safety officials confirm that a semi truck traveling east on I-10 rolled over after the driver lost control for an unknown reason. The truck was loaded with strawberries, which spilled over the interstate.
The driver was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of his injuries. After reports of diesel fuel leaking from the truck, Avra Valley Haz Mat teams responded as a precaution.
Eastbound traffic is being detoured to exit 226 and routed to the frontage road past the collision scene. DPS estimates that eastbound I-10 will reopen by about 10 a.m.
