TUCSON - The second suspect who fled the scene of an officer-involved shooting early this morning has turned himself into police.
At around 1:55 this morning, a police officer made a traffic stop near Glenn and Alvernon. Inside the car were two men - the passenger was not cooperating with the officer's orders and at some point got out of the vehicle, according to Tucson Police officers at the scene.
The officer, "perceived a threat" and shot at the man, officials tell News 4 Tucson. He was not hit, but he did take off running south east on Alvernon. A nearby citizen heard the shot and tackled the man as he was running, and he was taken into custody.
During that commotion, the driver of the vehicle took off, and police searched the area for several hours. At about 8 a.m., he turned himself in to police, without the vehicle he was driving.
