TUCSON- The only child of a Tucson man lost touch with her father in 1992. In March she found him and lost him on the same day.
Two and a half months ago Tara Castle learned that her father, Ronald Castle, had passed away in Tucson.
Now Tara is searching once again. Searching for her dad's diary. A leather bound journal filled with the hopes and dreams of the father she barely knew.
Ronald Castle lived off the grid in the Picture Rocks area. His daughter lives 300 miles away in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
On March 28th, Tara got a call informing her that her father had died in his home. Tara said the day she found her father she lost him forever. "Yea it was terrible! I went into a state of shock," Tara said.
Tare was devastated. Making matters worse, thieves broke in and ransacked her dad's modest home.
They ripped off anything of value including her father's leather bound journal.
To Tara that was the most valuable possession in the house."It was over stuffed with papers. As he ran out of room, he kept filling it in," Tara said.
The journal is engraved with his name and date of birth, 12-23-1942.
It's a record of his life. Worthless to the thieves but a priceless treasure to a daughter who barely got to know her dad. "It's so important to me because it shows his adventures of his life, his dreams, his hopes. And he meant to pass it on to me," Tara said.
Tara is offering a $200.00 reward for the journal, no questions ask. Call 520-399-1037 or 575-650-5485 if you have any information on this case.
