TUCSON - The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for Cochise, Graham and Greenlee Counties. This will start at noon Saturday and expire Saturday night at 7 PM.
For that reason, News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish has set the Wildfire Index at 10 today. This means an extreme fire danger for southern Arizona due to gusty winds, low relative humidity values & the ongoing drought.
Winds today near the Monument Fire in Sierra Vista will be up to 30 MPH out of the west-southwest. Much like yesterday, smoke from the Monument FIre will carry in to Tombstone, Bisbee, Douglas & Pearce.
Daytime highs Saturday will be in the mid 90's for Cochise County, with the relative humidity bottoming out below 10% during the afternoon. Expect humidity values to increase after sunset.
