TUCSON - While the monsoon doesn't officially begin until Saturday, mother nature had different plans for portions of Southeastern Arizona today.
With enough moisture in place and a weak disturbance off to the East, a few storms have fired-up over Santa Cruz and Cochise counties.
As of 4:30 p.m., reports of rain reaching the ground have come in from Sierra Vista, Ft. Huachuca and Douglas.
Storms will taper-off soon after sunset but enough moisture remains in place for another round of storms Saturday afternoon.
We turn dry again by Sunday and will likely have to wait a couple of more weeks for more widespread rain.
