TUCSON - The Salvation Army is asking for donations of frozen ham for this year's Annual Community Christmas Dinner.
With 3 weeks until dinner preparations begin, The Salvation Army needs 500 hams for their annual Community Chrismas Dinner on December 25th from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Tucson Convention Center.
Last year's Christmas event served over 3,400 meals, including sit-down dinners as well as home-delivered meals. With the number of impoverished and displaced expected to increase this season, the Salvation Army expects the need for public support to be even more essential.
"We are hopeful that the generosity and compassion of our donors will see us through the season," said Salvation Army Public Relations Director, Ashley Lueders.
Food donations are being accepted at The Salvation Army, 1001 N. Richey and The Hospital House, 1021 N. 11th Ave.
