Salon series offers safe place for women to learn about finance

TUCSON - Women are finding themselves more stressed out about money matters than ever before.

"It does become very upsetting and very stressful at times," says Paula Kellogg.

The Investigators found a place for help right here in Tucson. It's called the Women's Salon Series sponsored by Event Driven Media Partners. Paula has been attending for about a year and a half.

Judee Burgoon has been part of the group since the beginning about three years ago.

"Women of my generation really were not encouraged to have a lot of involvement with finances," explains Judee.

They meet in a casual environment where there is no sales pressure, no one attempts to dazzle the group with technical jargon and-- most importantly--no one judges.

"Anything and everything you can think of in the financial world from Social Security to planning for your future, for saving for your children for college," says Debbi Patterson.

At each meeting, a guest speaker is invited to lead a discussion about a variety of topics. No matter where you are in life, starting a family, putting kids through college, facing divorce or thinking about retirement the Women's Salon Series might have answers you are looking for.

Paula says, "It's a great place to meet other people. You know, find out other situations about, you know, you're not the only that's hurting and needs some help."
