Sahuarita man convicted of sexual conduct with stepson captured in Canada

SAHUARITA - A man who fled the state after being convicted in 2009 of sexual conduct with his underage, quadriplegic stepson was located in British Columbia, Canada, and has been arrested.

According to Sahuarita Police, during July 2007, December 2007, and January 2008, George Ross Wilcox engaged in sexual conduct with his stepson, a minor under the age of 15, who was incapacitated due to a brain injury and is a quadriplegic.

In July 2009, Wilcox was tried and convicted in Superior Court in Tucson. Before the verdict was returned, Wilcox left the state.

In April 2011, Wilcox was featured on the website for American's Most Wanted. On July 30, 2012, Delta Police Department in British Columbia, Canada, captured Wilcox after a long, involved search, according to a Sahuarita Police news release.
