Ron Barber in Washington, sworn in to office today

TUCSON - Ron Barber will be sworn in as the official representative of Arizona's 8th Congressional District in a ceremony on the floor of the House of Representatives today.

"I am very much looking forward to being able to carry the concerns of the people of Southern Arizona directly to the halls of Congress," Barber said today. "I deeply appreciate the trust that the voters of Arizona have placed in me and I will never forget that this seat that I will hold beginning today is not my seat, but the people's seat."

Barber will be sworn in between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Tucson time.

Barber's constituents as well as members of the media are invited to Barber's District Office in Tucson today to watch the swearing in.

The office is at 3945 E. Fort Lowell Road, Suite 211.

After Barber takes the official oath of office, there will be a ceremonial swearing-in administered by House Speaker John Boehner in the Speaker's Ceremonial Office.
